Contract magazine, in partnership with Tandus, has extended
the deadline due to popular demand for its second annual
Inspirations Awards. Applications for the award, which
honors and celebrates the commercial design community’s leadership
role in furthering global efforts for social responsibility in the
built and unbuilt environments, are now being accepted until Feb.
19.
Interested firms can enter their socially responsible projects to
win one of two $5,000 grants for their cause by visiting
Contract magazine online and submitting the digital application
along with up to 10 photos of their work. Entries will be evaluated
by our distinguished panel of judges: Public Architecture, San
Francisco executive director John Cary; Boston Redevelopment
Authority director of Urban Design Prataap Patrose; and Susan
Piedmont-Palladino, Professor for the Washington Alexandria
Architecture Center at the College of Architecture and Urban
Studies, Virginia Tech.
Winners will be announced on March 3 and honored on April 8 at a
presentation at the San Francisco Planning and Urban Research
Association (SPUR). Winning projects will be featured in an
upcoming issue of
Contract magazine and at
ContractMagazine.com
Last year’s inaugural winners, which include the Meeting Street
Center of Excellence, an inclusive school for children with
disabilities, and Botanist, a collection of
customizable eco-friendly furniture with a cause-related giving
program, can be viewed at
