Environetics Selected by LACCD for Districtwide Interior Architectural Design Projects

Environetics, a full-service interior architectural design and
space-planning firm, announced that it has been awarded a
three-year, $1 million contract with the Los Angeles Community
College District (LACCD) to provide concepts, standards and
aesthetic guidelines for interior designs, and to complete projects
for all nine LACCD college campuses and the District Headquarters.
The agreement extends through 2011.
"Environetics brings the design expertise and insight needed to
help LACCD provide an environment that fosters an outstanding and
unique educational experience, state-of-the-art facilities, and a
wealth of student and community resources," says Larry Eisenberg,
Los Angeles Community College District's Executive Director
Facilities Planning and Development. "We believe the work
Environetics will complete in the next three years will make a
significant impact on the quality of education we deliver and the
futures of our students."
The initial LACCD projects span all nine campuses and include a
showcase of sustainable furnishings that can be used throughout the
district, as well as integrated video conferencing centers linking
all of the campuses and the district headquarters. In
addition, Environetics is working on projects specific to
individual campuses including:
· The Student Services /
Activities Center and the Education Center buildings at Los Angeles
Southwest College
· The Gymnasium Complex,
the Theater building, the Business, Journalism, Art, Music, and
Life Sciences buildings at Los Angeles Valley College
· The Plant Facilities
and Sheriff Station bungalows at Los Angeles Mission College
· Interior planning,
design and construction projects at the LACCD District
Headquarters, including the Chancellor’s office, board room and
café
· Participation in the
coordination and move management for various buildings at Los
Angeles City College
· Participation in
determining design guidelines for all campuses with an emphasis on
sustainability and LEED design
The Los Angeles Community College District is the largest community
college district in the United States and one of the largest in the
world. Over the past 77 years LACCD has provided education to
more than three million students. The LACCD consists of nine
colleges and covers an area of more than 882 square miles.
