The North Rhine-Westphalia Design Centre has given the 2008 Red Dot
Award for Product Design to Hettich's "Easys" electromechanical
door-opening system and the "Lite inside" rail handle. An
international panel of judges appraised, tested and evaluated the
products based on the degree of innovation, functionality, quality
and ecological compatibility.
IA Interior Architects (IA) announced that Kimberly Blanco, NCIDQ,
IIDA, has joined IA's Denver office as senior project manager. Josh
Khanna has joined IA’s Seattle office as project manager.
Two individuals have joined Chicago-based Harley Ellis Devereaux
Corporation's national healthcare design team: Heather Nauss joins
as business development manager and Dennis Mika, AIA joins as
senior architectural designer for the firm’s healthcare studio.
Joseph M. Madda, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, has joined the Los Angeles
office of HGA Architects and Engineers (HGA) as a principal and
associate vice president. Madda will leverage his design and
project management expertise to reinforce the firm's growing
Healthcare Practice Group.
SH Group, Inc., parent company of Syska Hennessy Group, Inc. and
Syska Hennessy Group Construction, Inc., officially announced the
retirement of CEO, John V. Magliano, P.E. Magliano will
remain as Chairman of the Board until the end of 2008. As
part of the firm's succession planning, Gary Brennen, P.E. and
Cyrus Izzo, P.E. have been appointed Co-CEOs of the firm.

company Opus Lighting. With over 16 years of experience in the
industry, James is well known for his extensive knowledge,
especially in the area of color scrollers.
