JW Marriott San Antonio Preps for January Opening

Nov 23, 2009

Situated on 600 acres of rolling, oak tree-covered hills, JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa is preparing for its January debut. The design team comprises architect HKS, Inc. and ForrestPerkins for interiors. The resort's 1,002 rooms, including 85 suites, will reflect the authentic style and hospitality of the region, featuring custom-designed furniture and finishes that make use of hand-tooled leather, copper, and ironwork also used throughout the rest of the property.

The resort offers a variety of recreational and leisure amenities as well. The 26,000-sq.-ft. Lantana Spa will have 30 treatment rooms (including two couple's treatment suites and two outdoor private treatment rooms), a fitness and movement studio, and a heated lagoon-like pool. Meanwhile, the River Bluff Water Experience will include a 650-ft. rapid river ride, three water slides, and a 1,100-ft.-long lazy river. In addition, there are children's pools, a serene adult pool, hot and cold plunge pools, whirlpools, and an expansive activity pool. JW Marriott guests will also have access to the PGA TOUR Tournament Players Club (TPC) championship golf courses with 36 challenging holes.

F&B venues will encompass casual restaurant Cibolo Moon, 18 Oaks at the golf clubhouse, and High Velocity Sports Bar.
