IIDEX/NeoCon Canada has announced the winners of the 2008
Innovation Awards. Celebrating Canada's leading manufacturers and
suppliers within the fields of design and architecture, the
Innovation Awards recognize outstanding achievements in new product
design. Amongst this year's show offerings, 53 products were
singled out for awards, each of which demonstrate excellence in
design and creativity, and ultimately represent the best in new
product design.
Twenty-four judges spanning across Canada's design community
deliberated on each of this year's entries to determine the final
53 winners, as well as six winners in the Booth Division.
Certificates were distributed to recipients this morning by IDC
board members Linda Makins (president), Jenny Meuller-Garbutt, and
Donna Assaly.
"To be a leader in business today, innovation is key," says Makins.
"Careful consideration clearly went into the design and creation of
each of this year's award-winning products -- they are truly
forward-thinking. This gives these products a competitive edge in
the marketplace."
The Innovation Awards are run by the Interior Designers of Canada
and Merchandise Mart Properties (Canada) Inc., managers of
IIDEX/NeoCon Canada. The Association of Registered Interior
Designers of Ontario (ARIDO) owns the annual fall design exposition
and organizes the annual Awards of Excellence Gala dinner.
