Mackenzie Keck Construction Creates European Division

June 17, 2008

Mackenzie Keck Construction, Inc., based in Hackettstown, NJ, a provider of general contracting, construction management, and consulting services for upscale retail and other enterprises, announced it will launch a new division in Europe to meet the demand for its services overseas.

Based in Karlsruhe, Germany, Mackenzie Keck Construction GmbH will be led by Director of European Operations, Sven Flohr, a senior building industry professional with more than 20 years of experience. Roy Rayment, who has more than 25 years of experience in construction project management in Europe and the United States, will serve as project executive.

According to Dan Keck, CEO of Mackenzie Keck Construction, the company will open a second European office in London, England later this year and is also considering additional international offices in Toronto, Dubai, and New Delhi in 2009.

"Our new European presence represents a major development in our international expansion plans, but we also see additional opportunities for future expansion based on growing global markets for the services we provide," says Keck.  Since Dan Keck founded the company in 1990, MK has grown from its New Jersey roots to encompass offices in California, Texas and Massachusetts to service its clients' needs on projects throughout the United States as well as abroad.

Mackenzie Keck's clientele includes premier companies such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Urban Outfitters, M&M's World, Louis Vuitton, Luxottica, Ferragamo, Gucci, Helmut Lang, Lancome, The Body Shop, Theory, Under Armour, Versace, and others.

Vikram Reddi, president of Mackenzie Keck Construction, comments, "Mackenzie Keck's expertise in creating distinctive environments for sophisticated retail clientele makes it a natural fit for the European fashion landscape. Our firm's capabilities always have translated well during global projects; now is the right time for a physical presence in Europe as well as the addition of highly experienced senior personnel in Sven and Roy."

Since completing his formal training as an engineer in Germany, Sven Flohr has advanced to become MK’s new Director of European Operations, and brings the firm more than two decades of experience in the building industry.  Previously, he was at Seufert-Niklaus for 10 years, where he was responsible for European sales activities and worked on the Lufthansa Aviation Center in Frankfurt, among other major projects.

In his new position, Sven Flohr will be responsible for overseeing European business development and operations.  "I look forward to helping the firm add new projects throughout the European Union, while also providing local support for its existing clients," says Flohr. Situated between Stuttgart, Frankfurt, and Heidelberg, the new office in Germany is well-positioned to provide proximity to job sites throughout Europe.

Also joining the Mackenzie Keck team in Europe is Dr. jur. Daniel Beisel, LL.M as chief legal counsel.  Dr. Beisel attended law school in Germany and the U.S., and has been practicing in matters of European law, international commerce and tax law in Europe for 12 years. He will be providing Mackenzie Keck and their clients with guidance in these areas.
