The new Community Hospital-Fairfax, located in Fairfax, Mo., officially will open on Friday, September 3, following a morning dedication ceremony. The 51,500-sq.-ft. facility, designed by LEO A DALY, will serve as a replacement hospital, providing inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care.
The hospital features 16 private, inpatient rooms, as well as a 24-hour emergency department, laboratory space, radiology services, and rooms for physical, occupational, and speech therapy, on a 37-acre site. The inclusion of the outpatient services, which had previously been hosted in other off-site buildings, adds convenience and accessibility to frequenting patients.
“One of the key aspects of the new design is a single nurse station that can efficiently run the emergency department and the inpatient unit with all necessary services nearby so the patient load can be promptly managed by the nursing staff, even overnight,” says Jeff Monzu, AIA, LEO A DALY Omaha senior associate, project manager.
