The design team interviewed CBRE's senior leaders to better understand the brand and its culture. “The primary goal was to develop a design solution that translated consistent branding across its national offices, including space metrics and sustainability, while creating an environment that spoke to their culture, people, and partners,” explains Olga Acosta, RID, project manager, HKS, Inc. They wanted to express their global partnerships and local representation, as well as provide an array of opportunities for employee collaboration. |

In the entry/reception zone, elevator doors showcase the Texas shell stone and Italian marble reception desk, which sit in front of a glass wall featuring an etched world map and CBRE logo. Both are symbols of local and global CBRE partnerships, as well as the interlocking wall elements. The stone inclusions suggest brand stability and strength. |

Materials selection played into “Fusion Partnerships,” in which CBRE’s partners provided building products at a negotiated rate. Additionally, environmentally friendly products were emphasized to keep the office design in line with CBRE’s commitment to sustainability. HKS used repurposed wood throughout the space—such as the lobby’s ceiling and veneer doors—as well as low VOC and high recycled content materials. Enclosed offices and support spaces were positioned tight to the building’s core to maximize daylighting and offer exterior views. The project is pursuing LEED Gold Certification. |
