AIA Selects 2012 Institute Honor Awards Recipients

The American Institute of Architect’s (AIA) has announced the recipients of its 2012 Institute Honor Awards for works that exemplify excellence in architecture, interior architecture and urban design. From 700 submissions, 27 projects received the illustrious distinction and they will be recognized at the AIA 2012 National Convention and Design Exposition in Washington, D.C. in May 2012.

• 41 Cooper Square in New York City by Morphosis Architects
• The Gates and Hillman Centers for Computer Science in Pittsburgh by Mack Scogin Merrill Elam Architects
• The Ghost Architectural Laboratory in Upper Kingsburg, Nova Scotia by Mackay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects Limited
• LumenHAUS, Virginia Tech Solar Team
• Pittman Dowell Residence in La Crescenta, California by Michael Maltzan Architecture, Inc.
• Poetry Foundation in Chicago by John Ronan Architects
• Ruth Lilly Visitors Pavilion in Indianapolis by Marlon Black Architect
• The Standard, New York in New York City by Ennead Architects
