NeoCon® attendees will have a fresh face to see when visiting Delta Faucet Company this year at the Merchandise Mart. The bathroom faucet and fixture manufacturer recently opened its flagship DREAM2O concept, designed by Kirby Design and Consulting, LLC, which boasts an interactive space for architects, designers, and homeowners to test more than 90 products from the Delta® and Brizo® brands.
“From the sound and feel of a laminar flow ribbon faucet to the size of water droplets coming from our showerheads featuring H2Okinetic Technology® and the sensitivity of our touch-activated faucets, the working units and technology within the space are intended to appeal to senses and offer more information about the products than just how they look,” says Susan Fisher, vice president of marketing for Delta Faucet Company.
Elements include a 9 ft. by 3 ft. interactive touch wall, featuring a photo library with the capability to scale and rotate images, view product descriptions and 360-degree renderings, modify the product finish, and view videos and technology overviews. Additionally, a showroom-exclusive iPad®app comes with a full product catalog, allowing designers to create an account and save products to their own “favorites” library for future reference, as well as to e-mail information and product suggestions.
Linda Kirby, principle of Kirby Design and Consulting, LLC, says, “With today's buyer in mind, we set out create a unique retail space that encourages interaction and sparks conversation. DREAM2O is a playground that emphasizes comfortable luxury and brings inspiration to life.”
Sustainability was another key factor in the design, and bamboo floors, porcelain tile, and recycled carpet were utilized. “The natural elements reflect the core values for both brands throughout,” Kirby says.
Design and execution of the DREAM2O showroom was supported by Pathways Unlimited LLC, CIS Corp, sparc Artchitecture+Design, Techlite Corp, and Vision3. A private grand opening event was held in early May at the DREAM2O showroom.
The Dream2O showroom is located in the LuxeHome collection of boutiques on the first floor of the Merchandise Mart. In cooperation with Contract magazine, the Delta Innovative Design Awards are open for entrants until August 19. A link to the official entry form can be found here.
