The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) has opened two competitions that recognize excellence in interior design, one of which is brand new.
IIDA Educator of the Year Award, sponsored by Milliken, recognizes accomplishments and commitment to the profession from a full-time educator. The winner will receive a $10,000 cash award and one year’s IIDA membership. Any interior design, full-time faculty member with a minimum of five years of experiences in a post-secondary program of interior design at any university or accredited school is eligible. Faculty members and students may submit nominations, and full-time instructors may nominate themselves. Candidates should
apply online by April 10. Letters of recommendation are due by April 2. The winner must be available to accept the award on June 10 at the IIDA Annual Meeting in Chicago, though IIDA membership is not required.
The first-ever IIDA Member of the Year Award honors an IIDA member for outstanding volunteer service through commitment, passion, professionalism, and dedication to the Association as it advances the profession. A candidate must be an IIDA member for a minimum of five years and can nominate his or herself by the March 21 deadline via an
online application. Current Chapter or International Board Members, and Students are not eligible. The winner will receive one year’s free IIDA membership, in addition to placement on the IIDA website and in the DesignMatters newsletter.
