Kimball Office's super-functional office chair, Hero. Just for You., has just received the Furniture Industry Research Association's (FIRA) Ergonomics Excellence Award. The chair uses several technologies to personalize the sitting experience for people of all sizes and statures.

Established more than 60 years ago by the furniture industry, FIRA International provides independent expert services for the global furniture supply chain, including consumers, and safeguards the industry by managing the Association's membership activity. The Association's award recognizes products that meet and exceed British, European, and FIRA standards on ergonomics, structural integrity, and safety. To receive the award, the product also must be manufactured by a company with high quality standards and a strong environmental policy. Additionally, it must promote comfort and wellbeing for the user and feature excellent ergonomic qualities that enhance the quality of furniture.

The Hero. Just for You. chair is part of the Kimball Office/Interstuhl line of seating and was introduced to the U.S. after Kimball entered into a partnership with the German Interstuhl seating company in 2009. Kimball Office is responsible for marketing and selling the Interstuhl brand products throughout North America. The chair's auto-fit tilt mechanism senses the sitter's weight and automatically adjusts the tension in the seat and backrest for maximum support. The line includes mid-back office chairs and high-back executive chairs with a choice of fully upholstered seats and backs or mesh back/upholstered seat combinations. It also includes stackable cantilever guest chairs with mesh or upholstered backs.
