Port Authority Shortlists Four Teams for LaGuardia Terminal Building Replacement

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has shortlisted four teams of architects, contractors, and equity firms to design, build, finance, and operate the $2.4 billion Central Terminal Building (CTB) replacement at LaGuardia Airport. The project includes replacing frontage roads and a central heating and refrigeration plant, as well as operating and maintaining the existing CTB during the construction period and the new CTB for a specified term.

The consortia include the following architecture and construction firms:

Aerostar New York Holdings, LLC: Joint venture Hunt/VRH; Fentress Architects; SHOP Architects; SHOP Construction Services; WSP Flack+Kurtz

LGA Central Terminal Consortium: STV Incorporated; Ove Arup & Partners; Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates

LGAlliance: Lend Lease (US) Construction LMB; Turner Construction Company; Gensler Architecture, Design & Planning; Hochtief AirPort GmbH

LaGuardia Gateway Partners: Skanska USA Building; Skanska USA Civil Northeast; Tishman Construction Corporation of New York; Parsons Brinckerhoff; Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum; Vantage Airport Group

The CTB is slated for completion in 2019. The Port Authority has not indicated when it will choose the final project team.
