Life, and of course design, is about relationships—the joining of materials, the marriage of the user and a product, the interaction among people. Shawn Weiland attempts to capture these themes in his Affectual Chair. Crafted from wood, the seat features angles that curve against the natural wood grain, complemented and contrasted by the cool, dominating characteristics of a stainless steel, modular structure.
