Lighting: Birdie by Foscarini

Foscarini’s new lamp design is for the birds—and that’s quite alright. The whimsical design by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba gives a nature-inspired spin to the stereotypical shaded lamp, turning the light-weight polycarbonate and lacquered stainless steel fixture into a mock tree, complete with a bird-ready “branch” that dually serves as a design gem and dimmer switch. Birdie is available in a white, red, orange, or gray finish, and comes in either a floor or table style.
