Tables: Cassina
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the death of Charlotte Perriand, Cassina has expanded its offerings by the furniture designer with the Cassina|Maestri collection. With designs re-edited by Cassina, the line includes pieces that span the decades and reflect Perriand’s influence of living in Asia, as well as her minimalist style. The Ombra Tokyl chair (1954) is a stackable wood chair that appears as if it were crafted as origami. The Plurim bookcase (1983) offers flexibility, available in two heights, with sliding panels to alter the look and function of the piece. The Accordo table (1985) was inspired by the low-level lines of Japanese furniture, while the Petalo occasional tables (1951, shown here) exude an organic shape and create a distinct dynamic depending on how they are arranged alongside each other.www.cassina.com
