Lighting: Foscarini: Planet

The members of multidisciplinary design studio Changedesign hail from different countries, so perhaps it’s fitting that they should work on a project dubbed Planet. The textile lamp sports a spherical shape—a no-brainer in representing planetary bodies. But the spin on the design is patterning inspired by stitch details found on high-performance clothing worn by NASA astronauts. The design is rendered in this Foscarini fixture with a white fabric diffuser with white or red thread that’s almost invisible when the lamp is switched off. foscarini.com
